Richard Joseph Schefsky Jr.
July 1958- October 2023
Rich passed away at his home on Bainbridge Island three months after his 65th birthday. He was survived by his sisters Cathy Simons, Yakima, WA and Mary Keating, Seattle WA. He also had two nieces and two nephews, and two great nieces and two great nephews.
Rich spent most of his adult life working as a testing laboratory technician at Northwest Labs in Seattle WA. He was an avid cyclist commenting from his home on Bainbridge Island to his job in Seattle. He competed in the 200 mile STP (Seattle to Portland) cycling race.
His constant companion was his Great Pyrenees dog, Jaxson. You would often see them walking together at Battle Point Park on Bainbridge Island.
Rich had many talents. Those included gardening, metal working, and Barbecuing just to name a few.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
