Diane Lorraine Maurice

August 13, 1989 – December 26, 2025

Diane’s life, like the flight of a butterfly, was brief yet breathtaking—marked by curiosity, courage, and a capacity for love that continues to ripple through all who knew her. She moved through the world with an unmistakable spirit, transforming the spaces she entered and the people she loved.

Diane was kind, loving, generous, smart, daring, and fiercely caring. Her spirit was unmatched—headstrong in the very best way, with quiet confidence and a fearless willingness to take on the world in defense of those she loved. She had a gift for gently nudging people beyond their comfort zones, offering grace, empathy, and encouragement to take risks and go after what truly mattered.

Of all the roles she held, none was more cherished than being a mother. Diane was the devoted and loving mother of her two children, Opal (10) and Warren (9), who were the center of her universe. She was diligent and unwavering in keeping them safe, nurturing them with intention, creativity, and care.

Endlessly creative and deeply skilled, Diane had an eye for beauty and transformation—expressed through hair and makeup, thrifting, crafting unique finds, and repurposing the overlooked into something meaningful. She explored spirituality through crystals and quiet seeking, drawn to meaning, energy, and the unseen threads that connect us all. Always curious, she asked questions freely and never settled for the surface of things.

Family, to Diane, was never limited by blood. If she felt called to you, you became family—an honorary sister, brother, cousin, aunt, uncle, grandparent or lifelong friend. Raised within a strong village of relatives, she carried that same spirit into adulthood, creating community wherever she went and holding space for others with loyalty and love.

Like a butterfly, Diane’s life reminds us that beauty can be bold, resilience can be gentle, and transformation often grows from courage. Though her time here feels far too short, the impact of her curiosity, generosity, and radiant spirit will continue to flutter through the lives she touched.

Diane will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
