James Gotz Obituary

James "Jim" Albrecht Gotz III, loving friend, brother, dad, grandpa, and uncle, left us on April 5. 2025, at the young age of 63.

Jim was born October 18, 1961 in Pamona, CA to James A. Gotz II and Patricia Warren Gotz, both deceased. He was preceeded in death by his youngest brother, Christopher A. Gotz. Although born and raised in Southern California, he made his way to Washington State and resided in Olympia, WA until his death.

He is survived by his brother, Orra Gotz and wife Tracy, of North Augusta, SC, best friend Kari Newitt of Olympia, WA, daughter Ashley Newitt Black and husband Patrick and granddaughter Jocelyn of Steilacoom, WA, and many nieces and nephews.

Always dedicated to the task he was doing, Jim was hard working, honest, always helped others, and was loved by all, especially his co-workers and vendors at Olympia Farmers Market, where he was the Maintenance Manager since January of 2016.

Jim's greatest joy was spending time with "his girls". They shared a love for outdoor activities, going to Seahawks football games, and playing at the park, to name a few. Kari, Ashley, and Jocelyn will be lost without him.

He also enjoyed building and painting historic WWII model bomber planes and tanks and loved walking old military areas and sites looking for anything and everything.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Olympia Farmers Market, 700 Capitol Way N, Olympia, Wa on Monday, June 9th, 2025 at 11a.
