Obituary of Brian Tucker

Please share a memory of Brian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brian Lee Tucker passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 63 in Olympia, Washington. He was born on January 7, 1961, in Yakima, Washington to Gerald and Carol Tucker. Ever since he was a teenager, Brian had a love for cars, particularly his Camaros, and excelled at troubleshooting and repair of all vehicles. After graduating from North Thurston High School he never wanted for employment, having a reputation for his dedication to the job and flawless work ethnic. Simultaneously, he was the epitome of cool; Brian somehow always found time to attend numerous concerts and make spontaneous road trips up and down the west coast with friends. Brian also spent many hours hiking in the Olympic Mountains - summiting Mt. Constance was among one of his favorite exploits there. Ever the giver, he was always willing to share his special spots with friends and family and was generous in his tolerance for their lack of stamina. Brian is survived by his father, Gerald Tucker, and siblings, Doug (Debbie) Tucker, Pam (Ed) Carda, and Chris (Guy) Johnston. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Amber (Justin) Burns. Brian was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly, and his mother, Carol. Brian’s step-daughter, Amber, assisted greatly in Brian’s care, particularly after her mother passed in 2022. The endless love she gave him and her selfless assistance with so many things is deeply appreciated by the rest of his family. We would be very remiss (and likely in trouble with Brian), if we did not mention his dog and loyal companion, Buddy. Buddy is a rescued pitbull and Brian and Dolly’s most dedicated and faithful friend who was by their side through countless health struggles. In Brian’s words, Buddy is “a good kid.” May we all be lucky enough to have a furry sidekick like Buddy someday. Those closest to Brian will remember him for his quick wit and sense of humor, along with his creative imagination and ingenuity, his love of the outdoors, and his big heart for all kinds of animals. He set an amazing example of positivity, courage, and endurance in the face of the unimaginable physical adversity that had been a part of his life over the past few years. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
